Tomorrow is Your Birthday
Let me celebrate your life
I miss your life changing presence
I will never be the same
You took a scared, lonely girl
And help mold her into a woman
Bold and beautiful in spirit
Full of the life she chose to shut out
You helped set me free
You helped me become wonderfully me
Before you chose to not choose me
To not choose my possibilities
To run away from the only true love
You have ever known
Because the women after me
And then the women before me
Wore out your heart
Wore you down until you needed to be set free
Only to walk away from what was right in front of you
A blank canvas to which you made a masterpiece
Then sold to the highest bidder
Because when you look at me
You only see a past I no longer remember
Tomorrow is your birthday

Will never stop loving you

Poem could also be read as tribute to someone who has died during the past year (I sometimes see someone who ended their life as walking away from those who loved them). Dedicateable to alll those who by death or desertion find themselves in that situation.
