Ultraviolet Dreams (Sunburn)
Ultraviolet dreams...
Some want to embrace me
Others want to damage me
Not really sure which is which
Grew up way too fast
Vulnerable, naïve at times
But I am not sunscreen
You cant smother me one day
Try to save me the next
I see through you
Do you see me too
Just take it slow
And let me know the real you
Same with me
Weve only just met
A lifetime to burn
Stop your pre-conceived notions
Written on my pale skin
No lotions
No homilies
Just be you
Thats all I want
Ill handle the protection
Leave it to me
As you try to burn me alive
Some want to embrace me
Others want to damage me
Not really sure which is which
Grew up way too fast
Vulnerable, naïve at times
But I am not sunscreen
You cant smother me one day
Try to save me the next
I see through you
Do you see me too
Just take it slow
And let me know the real you
Same with me
Weve only just met
A lifetime to burn
Stop your pre-conceived notions
Written on my pale skin
No lotions
No homilies
Just be you
Thats all I want
Ill handle the protection
Leave it to me
As you try to burn me alive

That means more to be than you can know Rac, I am so happy you see this as an example of growth. The sun can make us feel so warm inside and out but it can also burn. I love that you were able to follow the metaphor regarding pain and exposure, vulnerability. Love and torture do often seem to go hand in hand. The stronger the love the more it can hurt us. That's so true... you never know what will tickle my feels. It's so good to see you. :) XO

Hey Ron! Not sure about staying safe... I am ready to go to the beach and feel the sun on my skin and the cold ocean with the clean, crisp, smell of salt in the air. :) Last time I went swimming in the ocean I was stung by a jellyfish and damn did that sting like hell. :p Thank you so much for the love and light my dear. XO I wish I could say all is well but...
Re. Ultraviolet Dreams (Sunburn)
So much to read into this entry. Fair skinned and blonde I'll bet you've had your share of burns. The way you made the parallel to relationships is brilliant. Growing up fast sometimes there's no place to hide, even SPF 50 gets a run for its money. It's good to see you back, your style of writing is needed here. Writing that makes one think and with every line there's a back story or two.
Well done

Oh yes! there is a lot there in this one. ;) and yes I might have had my fair share of burns... Fortunately there is more fair skin underneath once it peels off. :p Relationships certainly come with there own burns. Emotions can be so bright as to leave impressions that last a lifetime. Growing up fast is something I know a lot about and it's definitely not easy. SPF 50 just doesn't seem like enough these days does it. Things have been really difficult recently so it's been hard to spend much time here, still I do miss you guy and I really hope everyone is having a good year. I love that you like my style and there is definitely many backstories to be found. It's always great to see a BIG. :) XO

Dearest, Kristina,
This is a beautifully written deeply poignant piece. I can truly identify with this passage,
"Some want to embrace me
Others want to damage me
Not really sure which is which"
I suffer from the same anxiety. It's become increasingly hard to trust others but I recognize that it's an essential ingredient to a healthy relationship.Half the time I don't trust myself. Is it unrealistic to expect to find someone that actually fulfills this hope,
'Just be you
Thats all I want"
And allow me to be me, I'll add.

Hello my dear... Sometimes the some and the others are one in the same. I know things from when I was young made it very difficult to trust anyone and I still have that 'issue'. Anxiety is something I understand all to well. Trust is definitely an important ingredient of a healthy relationship. I have dealt with jealousy a lot and that can cause some very difficult situations. It's important to trust yourself first, if you can't then there is no way you can trust someone else. I think it's not unrealistic to expect someone to fulfill that hope but it takes time. And yes, someone needs to accept you for who you are. It's easy to get caught up into being someone 'for' someone else and losing yourself in that role. Thanks so much for coming by to see me.

They say life is a beach. I stay mostly at arms length these days. Idk if its safer or saner, but either way, there's a lot less drama. 🌼

Ah, a beach can be so turbulent but also so soothing. It makes me sad that you are at arms length these days my dear Aj. You have so much beauty to share that anyone would be lucky to be in your tight embrace. Is it safer to stay at a distance? I suppose so but sanity is over-rated. Being insane together is something truly special. Life is a drama, and it can be so boring without it. But alas, it is safe... Just don't be too safe... :) XO

You have such a way of making me feel really good Mary. I adore how you see me as amazing, I don't see myself that way but I do try so hard to be everything for everyone that is important to me including my work. Anyway, I think you are amazing! and I hope you recognize that you are. :) And I love that you could see the eroticism contained within this one. How that burn makes us so incredibly sensitive to the touch. And the pain can be the root of so much pleasure. ;) XO

lol Aloe is a good hello and it's very soothing to the body too. ;) But hello is good too. You really can't get very far without acknowledging each other right? I try not to get burned but I cannot claim that I use sunscreen all the time so... :p The more you get burned the more sensitive you become I suppose. And the more that aloe feels incredible and refreshing. I burn hot so that cooling feeling can be amazing. XO

I do love intense contrasts... like going from the sauna to the cold plunge and back again. :) She definitely needs some good soothing cream rubbed into her body but what woman doesn't? lol :p
Re. Ultraviolet Dreams (Sunburn)
You need a good man to rub aloe all over your burn areas then give you orgasmic bliss. Keep on writing my sexy lady.

What could be better than a good man? ;) And a good rubdown with some cooling aloe only amplifies the passion for orgasmic bliss even more. ;) Getting burned can really make you so sensitive to the touch. I am trying to keep on writing. :) It's been a challenging year so far and I cannot believe it's almost June already. That's just crazy! I hope you are having a great year so far. XO
Re. Ultraviolet Dreams (Sunburn)
Dear K,
This puts me to mind how much I regret not appreciating myself. Always wondering and wishing certain things about guys I liked. Typical. I sit now and wish Id just been chill about all of it. Would anything have been different? What struck me in your poem was the notion of And let me know the real you makes me admit I wouldnt have known what to do with that and probably wouldve run for the hills. Not knowing myself until recently I realize what a sloppy mess I am 🙄
I really enjoyed psycho analyzing myself through the lens of your poem. As for you, youre perfect. Dont change a thing. H🌷

Re: Re. Ultraviolet Dreams (Sunburn)
It pains me to think that you don't appreciate yourself Honoria. You are such a lovely person and you deserve nothing less than to fully appreciate every wonderful aspect of yourself. Wondering and wishing things about guys, oh boy what a subject that is. :) Chilling out is a good thing. Perhaps a glass of wine and maybe some weed too. lol Would anything have been different? That's an intense question but we cannot change the past however we can change the future. Knowing the true you or someone else can be so difficult. I know I am a sloppy mess so it's great to know I am in such wonderful company. :) I know a lot about psycho analyzing myself too. I absolutely adore how you see me. I am so far from perfect but I love that you accept and like me how I am. And I think you are perfect too, you won't change my mind on that ever... XO

They sure can last a lifetime. Fortunately I have plenty of fair skin underneath for when a bad sunburn peels off. It's that kind of yuck sounding? lol Sunburn of the soul is something that definitely lasts. And it can only truly be seen by those that get really close. I have experienced a lot of that type of sunburn, the type that I try to hide from everyone. Especially things that burned me when I was younger. But anyway, I love that you thought it was great ink DC and I always love seeing you hear with me. :) XO

It's a good metaphor, but I especially connect with the tone of the piece, which has a declarative feel, a summing up for moving forward, I'd guess. It's great to see some writing from you. Hope you're doing alright.

I am really glad you got the metaphor and connect with it Daniel. It's always wonderful to see you and your astute observations. There is a summing up of moving forward as part of it. I am really happy that you read my writing and visit me. I am doing okay but it's been exceptionally hard. Things with my Mom are going very badly now so I am just trying to deal with everything. XO

Definitely raw and telling my dear Iconic. Still we do need the sun... some vitamin D and yes that bronze glow. That's true, there is always a price to pay. Cold and dark I love too... And rain... I suppose I love the UK weather. :p Cashmere dreams are wonderful. Silky soft and just waiting to be handled. XO

Re. Ultraviolet Dreams (Sunburn)
So is life. There are people / partners that make you better (Vitamin D, skin tan) and others that hurt us (sunburn). And if you do get burned, friends, family or partner come to your aid (aloe). As you gain life experience, you learn when you need to apply sunscreen to protect you from damaging rays (toxic people).
With your social skills and appeal, I figure you could swim in a pool of aloe, if you needed to. Remember and enjoy the holiday. - Leo

I really love your analogy and metaphor DaVinci. That's so true and perfectly stated. Definitely the more you get burned the more adept you become at using sunscreen to protect your delicate skin from toxic people. Sadly it is very easy to get burned so it seems like we need stronger and stronger SPF these days.
That means a lot to me. I really appreciate the wonderful compliment. Swimming in a pool of aloe certainly sounds very soothing. :) Often I feel alone in dealing with things so it's nice to get a reminder that sometimes you need to rely on aloe to help make things better. I hope you are having a fantastic holiday with family and friends. And it's so important to remember those people that fought for us to have the freedom to do that, and everyone that stands ready to do so again.

Hey ZINZIN, so much metaphor; you aren't wrong... The sun can definitely burn so it's important to tan instead... :) I have had my share of 'cold' people that direct fire words... It definitely takes a special kind of SPF for that. I do love when it's freezing outside although I don't experience that much where I am now. When I lived in the UK there was cooler weather, I loved it. :) I hope you are having a great year so far... Hard to believe it's June.

I am curious about where you are now but climate change has definitely affected a lot of places... It's definitely not cold where I am for most of the time but fortunately there are not too many natural disasters as of yet.
I love the mountains and listening to the birds... and the cold whenever I can get it. :) Hiking is great, whitewater rafting, and swimming... I am sorry to hear you are affected by a disease ZIN. I wish you all the best!

Ah yes, Turkey! I so want to travel to Istanbul and the coastal areas... Hava sıcak... Really everywhere... It's such an amazingly beautiful country and a beautiful language. When you feel the burn you know you are alive right?! It gets quite hot where I am as well. I must admit I do love cooler weather though... I run hot! ;)
Speaking of fair skin and beauty... ;) I do love this song... Maybe you know it...

I can make you top 10
1- En Vogue - Don't Let Go

2-Coldplay-Clocks
Coldplay is my favorite band. I like Chris Martin's voice a lot.

This song is a vocal suicide! Even Christina struggles sometimes when she sings this live but we talk about Christina! One of the most soulful and powerful voices of our generation
4-Mariah Carey- Never Too Far
Maybe you have never heard of this one but Mariah is my favorite vocalist of all times
Such a romantic song
5-Britney Spears-Oops.. I did it again
In early 2000s I was a toddler and I was a big fan of Britney since then
6-Reamonn-Supergirl
Super German group with an Irish vocal..
7-Blonde Redhead-Misery is a butterfly
I think this one is an indie band... Love the fact that female vocal is japanese
8-Bon Jovi-Always
Even my mom likes this song a lot!!!
9-Whitney Houston-Saving All My Love For You
Everyone loves I will always love you but this one is my fave
10-Lara Fabian-Adagio
I like the english version but italian is ok too

This is one of those things when being vulnerable and open to others can leave us at a disadvantage. We get burned, we learned but the next time we get burned a different way.
You've become a prolific writer, expressing yourself honestly it's very admirable.
Well done.

Being vulnerable and open can definitely leave us at a disadvantage at times although sometimes it can give you a nice tan too. :) I think we have all been burned before and it's so true that we learn from these things but alas we always seem to get burned again and again... And so we learn how to try and protect ourselves. But when someone applies aloe it feels so wonderful. :)
