Vancouver Island in the distance
in the haze afloat
a distant silhouette that whispers
'get onboard a boat
take the ferry to Nanaimo
across the Salish Sea'
Vancouver Island in the distance
whispers that to me
on a sandy beach before me
where gulls and crows abound
and seals and whales in all their glory
can sometimes here be found...
springtime sunshine, May 4th morning
time to get away
Vancouver Island's hazy dawning
tells me I can't stay
in the always ordinary
every day the same -
in the haze Vancouver Island
sets me free again...
in the haze afloat

Very cool...
You have the Canadian nature
and Canadian herb...
They just passed a thing in my city,
which will give us a cruise ship,
which will go all around Lake Michigan...
Not shore how I feel about cruise ships,
however, it could be cool...
Personally, I was in favor of a "public access"
nature area on the water...
They needed 60% and got 64%...
It's a long story...
Basically, the Dutch founded this city...
And, as you know, there is flooding in the Netherlands...
So they built downtown away from the water,
and since then different interests have wanted
to merge downtown to the water...
I ride my bike by this site...
I adapt...
They are going to build a marina that caters
to the rich, and as consolation will have a public ice cream shop...
It occurred to me that I may get a dock there...
I like this excursion and journey which engages the senses...

Thanks for your interesting comment...there are Alaska bound cruise ships docked here ready to take shiploads of mainly American tourists ...it seems everyone feels the urge to get away once in a while... Lawrence
