Essential Things

I do not think much about the future
Nor worry about what comes tomorrow
For I know there is someone
Who is in control of everything
He will provide for me

I live each day with gratitude
For everything I have in life
I have food to eat and water to drink
I have a home that shelters me
From the heat of the sun
And keeps me warm and dry
On rainy days
I have more than enough clothes to wear
More importantly, I have work
That provides me financially

I cannot ask for more nor complain
I have enough of essential things
I'm blessed despite the few challenges life throws at me
My life is simple but peaceful

There is peace in my heart
There is love in my life
There is tranquility in my soul
I have a family that loves me
I have faith that strengthens me
These are the essential things
That I need in my life to be happy
And I have enough of these
