Planting Day

plan for today:

plant corn beans squash
eggplant tomatoes cucumbers

what i actually did:

repaired the gate
javalina broke into the garden

(they left hoof prints as evidence)

replanted onions
they dug up but didn’t eat

replaced soil
they kicked out of the raised beds

re-staked uprooted
peach sapling

picked up pieces of
broken flowerpot

same culprits?
-could have been a jackrabbit

(no hoof prints on the patio)

picked up wicker chairs
the wind blew over

dug out bermuda grass
that invaded planting areas

drove to the nursery
to buy corn seed

(to replace what the critters ate)

rescued a quail
Matisse The Cat brought into the kitchen

vacuumed feathers
