Refill in the Desert with Cinderella

Stillness hangs
heavy as night clouds
cheap thought wine
bursts cherries in the mouth
synergy supping the moment
yesterdays burning bright
surrendering souls to love
The bed is a sand dune
too high to climb
oceans of memory
fetch impossible shores
dream a pile of clothes on the floor
Stars wrap wilderness
round time's red heart
the desert sighs empty
bleeding from the lie
while I tumble towards tomorrow
stepping by broken glass
and the laughter from our past
rushes to wave goodbye
