Sleep
Sleep my daughter.
In my arms you will lay
As I walk down the street,
Dreaming all your fears away.
Sleep now
As I ask for spare nickels and dimes.
Don’t watch mommy become this.
Don’t watch her sell herself
So we might eat today.
Don’t watch as mommy gives this man his pleasure.
Don’t watch her red tears fall down her legs.
Please my child, don’t see this. Please sleep through the night.
Let this not be your first memory.
