Picked Your Poison

It's funny how people think
They know you
I see you
For who you really are
I see
You lie to yourself
Just like once upon a time
I too lied
To myself

You talk of patterns like
They have to be set in stone
Keep repeating yourself though
My answer still
Remains the same
This is a game within games

Not negative
Oh no
Not in the slightest
It's just that
I see
How truly
Crazy
Life can be
And EVERYONE
Picks there own poison

You picked yours
And I picked mine
What a fine line
Between what is
And what isn't
Who can really tell hm?
Goodbye
You picked your poison

Author's Note
Once upon a time, I thought I knew people. Turned out, I didn't know them or understand them nearly as well as I originally thought. Now at this age, I see people EXACTLY for who they are. Complex is the best word to describe the human race. This poem is dedicated to a special someone I had in mind. Someone who I still hold near and dear to my heart. Yet I can't let them in anymore because of the pain there presence causes. This poem was born due to that pain. You know who you are baby, enjoy💜
