The more I see
it becomes easier to recognize
regurgitation
and I'll confess that I miss
the bliss of ignorance
sometimes
even though I understand
it's safer to know
that stars in your eyes
are probably headlights
and the brighter they are
the less time you have
to get the fuck out of the way

Sometimes I really hate when you peek behind the curtain and see what's really going on. At least you get a good poem out of the deal!

I've never been able to resist finding out what's behind the curtain, and while that's been a good thing, generally, it sure has led to quite a bit of disappointment. Or, I suppose we could label that as growth. :-)

They do, indeed. Not sure I completely agree, but being on the other side of things can certainly give a new perspective that seems clearer, at least. So nice to see you stop by over this way, and really appreciate your thoughts.

Pleased to make your acquaintance, you write so raw and beautifully and there's an underlying little bit of bitter that I can get behind, a sad ordeal but as Daisy Grace said above it makes a wonderful evolving poem with tiny pinch of salt throw into the emotional mixture of it all.

Thank you, and nice to meet you too. I appreciate that you took the time to comment. I've not been able to be around much lately, but I'll certainly make a point to read some of your pieces when I can. Bitter can certainly help to balance the palate, can't it?
