Time is so tricky
You can easily forget
How quick it flies
When you are not conscious
Of its passing
It slips away from your hands
If you are not mindful
Of the things you need to do
Before the day ends
And another new day begins

Ramadhan helps me
To be conscious of time
And notice how the sun moves
In the sky at daytime
How it moves from east to west
From sunrise to sunset
Tells me the time to pray
Or when the time for each prayer is over

The first white thread that appears at dawn
Signals the beginning of the day
The Muazzin would call the adhan for morning prayer
It is time to stop eating and drinking
And fasting starts for the day
When the sun sets in the horizon
It is time to break the fast
And the evening prayer follows

As I am writing this I'm aware
Of the passing time
I only have 33 minutes left to post my entry
Just enough to make it to day four
Of NaPo'23
And as long as I know the flighty nature of time
I will not miss any day
