Our Bodies Together

Her face was laced with freckles below her eyes.
Her form was silhouetted against light from the hallway, but
I knew her so well her face seemed to glow.
She was happy.
I was happy.
Our friendship was deep.
Our bodies together seemed perfectly natural.
The narrow bridge of her nose always
wrinkled when she laughed. How I wished
she would laugh, but she only whimpered
in a high-pitched chirp that mirrored
the rhythm of my tongue.

Author's Note
I had a recent girl-on-girl experience for only the second time in my life. We found comfort in our friendship and took it a step further.
