Letter to _____

Dear D,

We've never met. You don't know who I am, or anything about me in the slightest. We talked, briefly, a few months ago. On this very site. I doubt you remember, I was trying to be funny, but came off as a jackass.

But, you know something about jackasses, don't you? You see, I, as creepy as it sounds (and I know it's pretty bad), do know a little something about you. Just a little, no need to panic. You don't like letting people in. I get that. Oh, believe me, I get that. I've tried to put up my own walls in my time.

Granted, mine were never as... structurally sound? As yours are. Not even he tiniest speck of dust is allowed into your defenses. Can't risk your secrets getting out, right? I get that too.

In a way, I'm jealous of those walls of yours. The way they still stand. How they probably always will. Mine crumbled for someone. I don't regret it... much. It's just, you know, sometimes I wish some things had been kept to myself.

But anyways, back to you. Despite those walls, things still manage to get to you. And they make you hate yourself. Make you angry at yourself. Make you want to cut, starve, or sometimes, try and kill yourself.

You seem to think you're alone. Despite whatever loved ones you may have. You think the worst, that no one really likes you. And I wish I could make you see that you're wrong! You are an integral part of SO many people's lives! Your lover's, your friend's... mine.

And everyone sees you depressed, or shut away, and they hate it. They want nothing more than to help you. I want nothing more than to help you.

Because, despite what you may think. What you feel your heart is telling you.

There's always someone who loves you.
