Good As Gold

What's good;
The contours of your face,
curving into the palm of my hand.
How my hands have never been so steady.
How your hands, fanned out,
taking my body into them.

How your eyes; The comfort
of a dusky jungle in Autumn.
As a resting lioness, sated,
but never powerless.
Those eyes that welcome me,
into your wild.

How your voice; That whispered rasp,
lulling me inside you.
Undressing the cautions from me.
Guiding me towards bravery.

How, after our naked rapture, we lay,
letting the surrender of one another
concede into our skin.

How our hands, raised above us,
our palms clasped together
with each other's, like a clam.
Yet our fingers tease the other's.
Playful opposition,
prolonging the final surety.
Until we enclose them,
into our complete embrace.

How your breathing, softening.
Your chest pressing its answered pleadings
along my side.
All those silent thank-you's of ours,
being traded one to the other.
How that wisdom comes,
from finally being acknowledged.
And all the answers fall like coins,
as we toss them to one another.
Offering; You can spend first.

How you assure me,
that our shared calm after chaos is sacred.
That it can rest, protected,
within the gloss of our locking ribs.
When we sweated away all doubts.
When we then covered ourselves,
with such affection.

How that fire within me
has found it's hearth.

How you lamented, before, over your thorns.
Yet, they were but rungs, for me to climb.
To reach you, at your brightest.
Now I see you, above all things.

How the sun, now, is your medallion.

How I once again believe in God,
because I know his thoughts, of
how you were one of his new goals,
when he flooded the earth
and said let's try this again.

What's good, is how we blend our strengths.
No stress of day, or fears of night
has a chance to fester.
When you remove my shirt from me,
telling me, to wear you like armor.

So I do. And now I know,
how it feels to be wrapped in gold.

How rich I feel, when you kiss me.
How with each, you donate your breath
to the charity within my chest.
