In Poetry's Creed
As a writer, doubt can be my foe
When telling someone else's tale
But poetry, oh how it can show
Their emotions, their highs and their fail
Removing interviews, I can focus
On crafting a work of art
With words, emotions I can evoke us
Honoring their story, with my heart
But self-doubt creeps in, I question why
Am I the one to tell their tale?
But tearing apart, I will try
To do justice, to not fail
For as a writer, I will grow
Through self-reflection and revision
And with each word, I'll let it show
Their story, their heart's decision
So, let me trust my heart and my soul
For my dedication will lead
To a powerful, moving whole
Their story, in poetry's creed.
