The Butterfly Effect

blossom kisses on an orchard’s breeze
come alive beneath a sickle moon
I would die to behold her tranquil gaze
weakened appreciation, brought to my knees

please come with me and hide from the rain
chase the shadows with shades of blue
return to the inner sanctum of my thoughts
I grace your altar as you steal my pain

sweet dreams come to life born of flame
though some days I crave to shed my skin
time’s subtle currents start to overtake
and your deepest sighs caress my name

Author's Note
sonorous sounds and serenades
ancient tongues of painted clouds
words reach out in twisted braids
a drifting echo of lyrical shrouds
