TODAY IS NEAR
It is my actual birthday today
I am excited yet conflicted
Twenty eight
Wow didn't know if I'd make it this far
What more is there to say?
The struggle is real
Feeling like life is kicking me harder
I will do my best to help you understand how I feel
On this day I just wish things were different
Mom
I really really wish you were here
Still wallowing in my grief for you
Ya know
What else am I to do
I thought you'd make it here forreal
Till I was at least thirty
Now I see the full scale of the things
On this day
I think about life and death often
I sigh in the unknown
I do not want to see an early coffin
I am greatful though
Do not get me wrong
From every fiber of my being
Down from my head to my toes
Happy birthday chica
You made it here
Step by step
Used to always walking in fear
I wish for the happiest of birthdays
To you my dear
While all the hours continue to draw near
