The Darkness of Sweet Hyacinth
The stark perfume of hyacinth,
catapults me back to a time
when monsters did not exist -
Or did they?
My mind burned with thoughts of him.
Although he already knew that.
This creature of darkness scans my thoughts.
Hovers upon my mind.
Thirsts for my blood, ever so, decadently rich with despair.
Magnetized by the darkness, I ached,
for this man that hunts the shadows
of my dreams.
I dreamt of the precision of porcelain
razor sharp fangs crushing holes,
openings to my soul, in my naked flesh.
His desire was insatiable to bleed me,
exquisite drop by scarlet drop.
Until I lay in his arms on the edge of life & death....
To bestow my final mortal breath.
catapults me back to a time
when monsters did not exist -
Or did they?
My mind burned with thoughts of him.
Although he already knew that.
This creature of darkness scans my thoughts.
Hovers upon my mind.
Thirsts for my blood, ever so, decadently rich with despair.
Magnetized by the darkness, I ached,
for this man that hunts the shadows
of my dreams.
I dreamt of the precision of porcelain
razor sharp fangs crushing holes,
openings to my soul, in my naked flesh.
His desire was insatiable to bleed me,
exquisite drop by scarlet drop.
Until I lay in his arms on the edge of life & death....
To bestow my final mortal breath.

I love the inspiration the MB instilled.... You took it and really added your own pizzazz.... I enjoyed the openness and admitted truths... almost in hushed tones... I get feeling the risk but it's that very essence that beautifully bleeds out onto the page. Keep up the good work, Debbie!

My dear deliabear, thy words doth sing,
Of longing and desire, of a vampire's sting,
The sweet scent of hyacinth, a memory born,
Of a time when monsters were but a fable, forlorn.
But in the present, darkness dwells,
A being of the night, who upon thy thoughts doth swell,
Thirsty for thy blood, rich with despair,
A creature of decadent desires rare.
In thy dreams, he appears,
A vampire of porcelain fangs and haunting fears,
Crushing holes into thy mortal flesh,
Drinking thy life's blood with an exquisite finesse.
Till thou lay in his arms, on the brink of death,
The final mortal breath, a withering breath,
A desire so strong, it must be fulfilled,
The price of immortality, a life forever stilled.
But beware, dear mortal, for in the night,
The vampires lurk, with powers beyond sight,
With a hunger that cannot be sated,
A thirst for blood, insatiable and unabated.
And so, let thy words be a warning,
To those who seek the darkness, the alluring,
For in the not-so-distant past,
The monsters were real, and they did cast,
A shadow upon the world, a mark of fear,
A reminder that the supernatural is ever near,
And that in the sweet scent of hyacinth,
The darkness may still lurk, to lure one in.
Of longing and desire, of a vampire's sting,
The sweet scent of hyacinth, a memory born,
Of a time when monsters were but a fable, forlorn.

Thank you so much. I've always been fascinated by vampire lore. No one does the darkness better than Mr. black. Have a wonderful evening.
