“There is no need for self-expression”
First they banned them then they burn them
Dystopian futures can be just signatures away
They don’t want the masses to dwell in knowledge
They are afraid the people will seize the day
“…There is no need for creativity…”
The battery runs smoothly behind the pit
The cityscape changes with each rudiment
The firemen chase and throw books away
Setting them ablaze through every movement
“…There is no need for enlightenment…”
Their faces are full of soot and sweat
But there is a fire raging inside their hearts
No matter what the outcome may be today
They keep striving to perfect their parts

Bradbury's book seems very prophetic when it comes to social media in today's times. It's pretty scary come to think of it.

Congratulations. 2nd place is awesome. These kids pour their hearts and souls into these comps. It’s wonderful to see this still happening. Good luck and much fun for the last one. Great insight on the write. This write got me thinking his critical thinking is rarely taught in school these days. Just pumping out drones and that’s when these kids go to school at all. Of course, I’m sure that’s what the generations before me said about my class. H🌷

I was just commenting to bk, that Bradbury's book seems prophetic, especially when it comes to the social media aspect. Everything is a trend now, dances, jokes, etc. Now some states are banning books?

Books are getting banned in some school districts in some states, they don't want to deal with the issues and struggles that tell the true stories. Who knows how long this will last or how far it'll go.
