Image for the poem cruelty

cruelty

insipient cruelty be thy name
with the dusk's urgency be away
conjured on a dare
my snare set to bate

lured into a state of tranquility
lulled into sleep
you see what you like
not what is before you

an ancient, with the hunger of a thousand
a greed so deep it can't be measured
lilt on the wind invites you in

are you amused?

quicken the pulse with a dagger bared
the prey tastes much better afraid

I take my time with you
lusting your flesh I must indulge my tastes
dining on the soul
oh...you taste so sweet

unfettered passion I am inside your mind
you give yourself to me willingly
I am appeased, my demons freed at last
