Yes, exactly! It’s the third stanza that’s really got hold over me because it’s exactly spot on yet I’m not sure why I do this?  Another wonderfully thoughtful piece for me to contemplate. H🌷

Perhaps we're never really sure why

I mean... WOW!
This is why I love reading poems here on DUP; the absolute joy I derive from feeling like I've been lucky enough to stumble across the rare diamond in the rough of beautifully rendered poems, is a bit like a high! The depth of this line had me catching my breath - "rest inside the softer places"... It was one of the many that I found wholly captivating... but that last line is 100% 🔥

It almost melted me to the floor.... ;)
