Haunting
The silence comes to taunt me
Like clockwork at the end of the day.
I've been talking to God more,
But lately I don't know what to say.
I've slipped into a strange comfort,
A serenity deep in my bones,
But these thoughts still whirl around
To torment me when I'm alone.
I've come so far, but lack so much,
I still feel like it's not enough.
Karma lies in wait for me and she whispers
"If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough."
Like clockwork at the end of the day.
I've been talking to God more,
But lately I don't know what to say.
I've slipped into a strange comfort,
A serenity deep in my bones,
But these thoughts still whirl around
To torment me when I'm alone.
I've come so far, but lack so much,
I still feel like it's not enough.
Karma lies in wait for me and she whispers
"If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough."
