Burdens Beared Together
In quiet contemplation, doth this man sit
With heart so heavy and brow so knit
He sees the world in disarray and despair
And can't help but feel a deep sense of care
For in his eyes, the actions of his kind
Are cruel and selfish, base and unrefined
He wonders why we do what we do
And cannot help but feel a deep sense of rue
For as he reflects on his own deeds
He realizes that he too has sown the seeds
Of darkness and sorrow, of pain and woe
And cannot help but feel what regret did bestow
For if he, a mere mortal man
Can fall prey to such flaws and demands
What hope is there for his fellow kin?
Is it not true that all humans are sin?
So he sits there, lost in thought
Wondering how his mind became so fraught
With cynicism and doubt, with fear and strife
And hopes one day to find his way back to life
With heart so heavy and brow so knit
