Tartan picnic blanket
I take refuge
on the pink tartan picnic blanket
and stare up at the clouds overhead
ask myself science questions
I don't know the answers to
and could ask Google later
but probably won't
I watch the birds fly over
watch the wind rustle the leaves
look at flowers I've forgotten the names of
scattered through my overgrown herb garden
and wish that life
was always this peaceful
on the pink tartan picnic blanket
and stare up at the clouds overhead
ask myself science questions
I don't know the answers to
and could ask Google later
but probably won't
I watch the birds fly over
watch the wind rustle the leaves
look at flowers I've forgotten the names of
scattered through my overgrown herb garden
and wish that life
was always this peaceful
