The Vengeful Wraith

The veil is starting to lift
I’m falling out of my old skin
Did you know it would end like this
Shadows shining on the bricks
You crashed my heart into a ditch
I don’t have the strength to start again

I’m empty and see through
And I bet you’re enjoying in the view
Cause you think I’m with the fire
Staring up at your shoes
But I’m standing right behind you
Now you’ve got nowhere to run to

It’s so quiet you can hear your thoughts
I know you feel like something’s wrong
I watch you walk home along
The crumbling empty sidewalks
You go inside and turn the lock
But I’m the flickering shadow on your walls

I want to cut open your cheek
With the expensive ring you gave me
I want to watch you struggle to breathe
As you choke on your own teeth
But instead I just watch you sleep
I love you and it makes me weak
