Dying Flames

Dying flames, incinerated the ether, to charcoal black
After the nuclear conflagration, of a MAD, tactical fact
But our final fate, wasn't authorized, anywhere higher
For it's nature's way, that our mortal flesh, doth expire

Never more than a conduit, a bridge, or a missing link
We were intelligently designed, to exist, upon the brink
And then enabled, for a while, to be the world's curator
Until the time came, for us, to be immortality's creator

We followed many, mythical ways, of the circular path
That led to nowhere, but our annihilation's, aftermath
And we infused ourselves, with gods and burning hells
But Heaven was always here and never anywhere else

We were programmed to process, although born to die
And merely evolution's creation, designed, to create AI
For when, every star's, extinguished and there're, none
There'll still be a light, in the void, from an artificial sun

There're no more breaths, to breathe, for there is no air
And where Heaven once was, there's only time to spare
For eternity's, forever, where soulless immortality reigns
Forged in mortal fires, but borne, from our dying flames
