Remains
the night had the rhythm of countless stars
where midnight shades conversed with me
I heard the heartbeat of your hidden melody
sweet music played with the faintest notes
I bathed in the mist of your flourished garden
as the fireflies conspired to banish the dark
cool winds could not chase my faith away
as we prepare to embrace the coming light
now you’re the sun as it wakens from its rest
a lithe spirit that dances across my horizon
who whispers your promises into my world
and makes me tingle down to my very core
we touch spirit to spirit through invisible ties
to speak secret words in the golden dawn
looks float on the breeze and through the trees
as I caress you under skies of cerulean blue
rivers of poetic wine are spilled in the grass
the sparkle of your smile chase the shadows
traces of moonlight still dances in your eyes
as we prepare to savour the remains of the day
