Red carver chair .

How can an empty chair give me
All the characteristics of your face
Your white wisps of hair , unruly ,
In defiance . Age may of made you
Confused and at times subdued.
But your physical features stood
As a reminder of all the life you had
Lived , I swear I still see your aqua
Lagoon eyes glinting at me as a
Playful trick , no you can’t forget me
That quick , and I don’t . Your chair ,
Upright , no fuss , cushion left as it
Was when you perched there , legs
Languishing I felt in quiet despair
Not giving up but knowing, I can’t
Articulate it , I see you more now
That chair with wear and tear reminds
me of you , to me you have not gone
You are still sitting , a handsome man
Who has defied time , still drinking it
All in making every sip count after your final curtain call in That red leather Queen Anne carver That grew to suit you as the years
Went on , I see you , I see you like I
Never did before and I greet you
Ever day with my eyes , soul  , heart
And mind , nice to meet you .
