how beautiful and frightening
they are
we may tremble
by the mere idea of them
they start a quaking inside
that can not dissipate
out of fear
of standing motionless
pulled towards them
in blatant curiosity
how far will this one
take her
will she survive it
will it hurt
will love be there
her mind a cluster of
gnarled thoughts
twisted into a ball
seeking their way
towards her feet
beseeching her to take that step
to hurl herself
along the curve of the earth
grounded in Nature's richness
towards all things unknown
move into the mystery
life says
you will find
courage
a deep knowledge of self awareness
faith that you are safe
held
loved
growing in the belief
wherever you are
you are enough
