Chiaroscuro

my heart thrives
among root & stone
& I gather myself
casting frustrated remains
of unwritten poems
out into the dark

with empty hands
I find myself content
in the company of stars
yet foolishly missing
illusions
of your existence

in my salacious mind
I dance in abstract
painted
of the finest parchment
where reckless strokes of passion
can only color me beautiful
