Oh no, not again

The ancients frown
cutting silence with a stare
They have witnessed
our foolishness before
endured the peril of the flood
to rise again reborn
Our moment's shadow
dances with clouds
throws trinkets at the moon
while Earth awaits a miracle
to elude the cruelest storm
Fearful prophets
drown in prayers
to staunch the heavens might
but the sun shall flirt in hell
for forty days
and forty nights
