Madam of the Library

Madam of the Library

Queen of pentacles sends fiery gaze
Across the pages of Ovid’s Amores
That takes her into the heart of love
Where reside strange desires
That stirs her heart in the lonely hours
When boys sit reading Henry Miller
Whose books she cannot resist but allow
In the collection guided by her inner desire
But soon lads submit book reports
On the words of decadence
As scribed by Anais Nin
That give her a secret thrill
While making her gasp with wonder
At what salacious minds are instilled in youth
From chapters written by authors
Often forbidden in public libraries
But found on her school book room
Where boys give her much to ponder
For summer reading
An in flagrante delicto for her imagination
That casts a burning path
Across the coral pink sands of a Mars
While her tresses reflect his scarlet dunes
With her bonfire lipstick to incinerate
The hemp that binds a lad to innocence
