The thing about dying
beyond the blushing
waiting for the silent butler
you do it only once
with a shadow of mascara
lifting your vanity
in dreams of unspoken truths
behind the veil
climbing up the staircase
as death has a nasty habit
of not staying in one place
because it takes up space

Could death also be considered an element, continually needing to be fed more and more. To think of wind, forever moving from high to low pressure zones, fire forever needing to consume, water no more than liquid life continually changing states, and death forever on the move seeking the weakest in whatever way
