Time out

When my mental health is on the floor,
You'll find me sat behind my gardens door.
Soaking up the sun or chilling in the shade
Often listening to music as it's often played.
Something to match the mood I'm in
Whether it's rock or rap, something just to make me grin.
So here I am in my place of zen
Away from work, everyday stresses and you guessed it, men.
Gathering my thoughts, taking some me time and breathing
When I'm sat out in nature I can feel myself healing.
I remind myself that it's okay to stop, okay to wobble and sometimes to drop.
It's fine to think, and feel deeply, and dwell.
As long as I remember to get back up aswell.
Come back fighting with my head on my shoulders,
Head, heart and soul aligned and back in their holders.
Tomorrow's a new day and I'm strong enough to face it,
I fall but I get up and with love, gratitude and patience I'll make it

Author's Note
This is a little something I wrote while chilling in my garden in Sept 2021. My mental health can be a little up and down at times and my garden is definitely my escape when I need to step away and recharge. It's all about feeling whatever you need to feel at the time, being kind to yourself and getting back on your feet again when you're ready. #selflove #mentalhealthawareness #natureheals :) oh and the little drawing is mine from when I copied this up for a penpal. I'm not an artist so it's just a little cartoony doodle to go with the poem.
