Hamlet

I pray you will see me
As I patiently wait for you

Sparing none of her flowers
She sets them gently upon the river
Wishing them the joy she’s lost hope in finding
Her mind is a torrential flood of sorrow
God knows I’ve tried to save her
Starving for solitude, she placed me into her heart

She prays I will see her
As she patiently waits for me

With more to gain with the loss
Mother seems only careless
Never blinked twice to question who slew the King
While I scream at the sky
And cry to the ghost
Begging the question, why
Crushing my last foothold
Weight as heavy as the hatred flowing through my heart

You pray I will see you
Still you pray

I am the sorrowful jester
Jesting to the bones of my heroes
Fallen for many
Alas, I fall to myself
With a smile spread across my face
Not unlike the one you yourself wear eternally

She gave me her heart
I took her mind as well
Good God, I gave you my soul
You spare me nothing at all

My sweet one
My dear one
Relinquish me
Your broken one

With no one left, nothing surrounding me
I pray, finally, you’ll see me
As I patiently wait for you
To finally snuff out my light
Let me, joyfully, die

I pray they will see me
And sing me to my rest
