I remember

I remember the aroma left behind by the sea
when the tide was out and seaweed lay about
and little clickety-creatures scuttled away from me,
I remember the aroma left behind by the sea,

Among those shallow pools among fractured rocks
and those deep-green pools, those dark green stains
in the crack of rocks cracked by the restless sea,
I remember the aroma left behind by the sea,

By the rooshing inward woosh the receding hush
of the sound of the sea on cobbly pebbley road
the click and clack as we walked under the bullying gulls
the broken road left behind by the sea,

And I, have a vision of your good sense
the expansiveness of your inner scented self
and your good sense in your sense of me,
toward me and the salty sea-dog air
in your laughing hair your crazy hair
how you lifted me there
when I loved you there
but, I remember the aroma we, left behind by the sea...
