Portrait of the Artist as a Cat

I jumped out the window.
Ran the alleys.
I traded a rib with a god
for you.

What has brought
the crystal of the days?
Washed clothes...
fruits, basins, hoes?
Languorous deserted nights
looking at the blinds!

I ate from the pan.
I licked the bowl.
behind a star
without a goodbye
I'm gone.
