small beginnings

It was Charles Mackay who wrote of perspective
as a transitory release, so I have tried experimenting
with new, avantgarde ways

to breathe;

Because there is a certain pain that drives young men to make out with pillows,
and a statement about neo-expressionist architecture that we do not yet understand.

I want the risk that comes with asking for the time
In someplace where the sky at 8’oclock looks like the sky at 10,

and to look toward the world through a window that reveals
itself only upon the touch of rain.

Where is the middle class inside the middle class?

These merchant towns are deprived of smothered mouths
that stop you in the street
expecting the answer

It is 9 o’clock -
No, 12.
