Moving on From the Same Man
She wore black as she read his text and
envisioned him in tight blue jeans
They say opposites attract but do they
really?
His goodbye was not making any sense
and her mind was not comprehending
the words or their meanings.
God, her heart was beating fast. His
memory and smell, had been oh so
good.
Months had gone by without a word or
sound of his voice
Now this text saying he had moved on
with another made him less handsome
to her if you would.
He had stood with dominance and pride
She had no value to him now and he
held no respect to her
It had been awhile since she had loved him with her body, oh the tears she
cried.
Now, his text stared at her, mocking
and smiling
This was not the same man that had
cuffed her, controlled her every move
Loved her, his dates and orders ever so
beguiling.
Her eyes, red from the tears that held no
joy
The storm had come and left its mark
Her mouth puckered, so sad as the tears
rolled downward nothing to enjoy.
This was the man that she had wanted
too
His words had shaped her heart
She had not meant anything to him,
nothing good or true.
She would not grieve or mourn
The world could be cold and hard
She had sought Christ, she had been
reborn.
Now as she looked at his text, his scar
She felt gladness in his goodbye
He was gone, never to return, never to
mar.
