The Devil said he heard her sobbing but
somehow she convinced him she was
giggling in reverse. Now her tears
roll up instead of down.
Very strange.
Just assume everything is a comic joke
and keep on laughing.

Yes, that's pretty much the scope of it, sometimes. All the arts are dark. And of all the arts, the comedies are often the ones which require the highest degree of fidelity within symmetry, less their vivifying potential not reach the mark

Better to find the humor in these situations. This is a beautifully evocative piece with a great tint of sad humor. It was a great read.

"Giggling in reverse" it kind of took me back to the old days when people used to say heavy metal was the devils music and they swore that if you played those records backwards you could hear messages.
