Beautifully done, Honoria. There is sadness in losing a loved one, but you’ve woven peace and love and a sense of hope into your words right alongside the grief of loss.

I like this H. It succinctly captures the hope which can be associated with death. Not a Catholic myself, but have had various brushes with Catholicism in my time. Rob

Where ever we end up going, you will be closer to the top. I will be on the outskirts. I hope you wave and tell them "I know that guy, he's okay". Maybe they will let me come there for a visit.
I'm sneaking in whiskey. Just because He doesn't make it obvious, I know God loves me too.

Spot on H, we just went through this with my mother in law, got her last rites by the local priest and took her last breath not to long after, while we were at here side, there was much love thee. Nice spill.

This piece gave me sweet, peaceful tingles. Thank you for the explanation of lat rites. I've alays wondered abut that process. I have learned some valuable hings in this poem. My mom ws/is catholic and it gives me some closure o know what her conversation with her Priest was like just prior to her passing. Just a few years ago, my sister sent me one of the sets of rosary beads that my mom used...I cherish them. Bravissima❣🌹

You have really captured the comp theme with this write. It’s so ethereal, and it truly and honestly speaks to The Last Rites. I have always been intrigued by death and dying, and how it is viewed and moved through in different religions and cultures. You have laid down a beautiful piece. Good luck in the comp!

I've been saying it and it's really amazing how Daniel's comp has brought out many great entries. Thoroughly enjoyed this, reminiscent of that ritual and faith many of us can relate, while trying to deal with loss.

I like the use of chapter headings and sequencing here. It creates the effect of a religious programme, or a recorded set of rituals.
