We have lost a precious part of us
where we once dwelled, my friend.
A bond that spanned thru our lifetime
has now abruptly come to an end.

Will our memories forever sustain us
even now that we must move along?
Or will our images slowly fade away
for what felt so right, ended up wrong.

We will no longer feel the comfort
of our loving and warm embrace.
We'll never make the other laugh again
until our eyes cry or our tummy aches.

When our hearts get to feeling lonely,
who will be there to answer the call?
And when we start to lose our balance,
neither will the other catch, if we fall.

No longer having our voice of reason
whenever we may start to lose our way.
Nor our reassuring words of strength
when we may feel unsure or afraid.

Please treasure all our good old days,
and all the moments that we've shared.
So, our carefree spirit we had together
hopefully won't ever totally disappear.

Hold tightly now to our memories
and I know I'll forever miss you so.
