A Hootinanny

Barn owl perched in shadow calls
I stand in silhouette, listening to song
The mouse in the darkness dares not move
In different ways, we listen to tune

Bellows of it's voice and chest
Guarding the yard with it's presence
Perhaps we've both miss the moon
Perhaps the clouds be parted soon

A chance the dance of rain will fall
Beneath the screech the owl will call
In shadowed light against the barn
Silhouetted like it's song
