1957 DeSoto

Premonition in the ignition,
neath the moon's quinine
reflecting off the taxi hack
hearing the rods knocking
listening to the raven's squawk
no chrome between its teeth
in the corn fields near Tupelo
near the zombie stalks
a rusted-out DeSoto
once a beauty now no lining
where I sat and listen to the radio,
to Wolfman Jack,
coming to me from WDUP
