Sandpaper

Heavy hands hypnotized
Towards a grainy spill
My DNA absorbed inside
Until it gets its fill
Toxic topics recorded
One after the other

My pen’s being chewed bit by bit
Smoothing moments with garnet grit

Sanding all of my fingertips
Cause I’m writing on Sandpaper
Scrolling my life for the here and after

Footsteps dragging
On the ocean’s edge
Finding salty solace
Inside the waves pledge
Crashing closer towards
Both my tired legs

My inkless feet disappear bit by bit
Vanishing moments with saltwater grit

Washing away all of my footprints
Cause I’m walking on Sandpaper
Where I realize I can always start over

Author's Note
Sometimes writing about subjects can be difficult and cleansing in a way.
Then I thought about how difficult it would be to write on sandpaper.
Went from there while listening to one of my new favorite song!!!
