Howland Island 2023!
Howland Island... ahh the romance of it all.
HOWLAND ISLAND? W.T.F! WHERE ON GOD'S EARTH IS THAT?!!
Well, it's pretty remote, in fact, it's uninhabited -
Apart from a few wild birds.
Wild birds, now there's a thought...
How about a wild night at this desolate outpost with NightGoddess,
Ringing and bringing in the new year, last of all -
On Howland Island, (U.S.A)?
It doesn't have to be barren tonight baby,
Even on this one damn lonely rock;
As we sip champagne, look to the heavens, contemplate...
I'm sure you can keep me warm in your company this evening, darling.
Hell, we'll bear witness as the last people on the planet to celebrate a new dawn -
This holy midnight, feeling like Adam and Eve!
HELL! We could even populate this empty site,
Bring it back to life -
As hands point to twelve...
But hey, one step at a time ay?! ;-)

And thank you so much for 'going along' with this project, NG. I have been looking forward to its submission since April, lol. With so much doom & gloom around at the moment, it's nice to put this somewhat uplifting poem out there. Btw, it will only turn midnight, New Year's day on Howland Island at noon on January 1st, UK time! 😍

This is a great Collaboration! I truly hope a new year brings uplifting kindness, love, peace and understanding. Most of all mercy on each other. Here's to your New Years Billy! You two did great on this piece! :)
