Mama Needs A Break.

Pitter patter
That’s the sound of little feet
Running, yet again
To meet me in the bathroom
And disturb my peace

Fuck.
I can’t take a shower
Without having 100 questions thrown
at me rapidly
By the little curious person
Who was put on this earth by me.

Mom this and mom that
All day long

I mean damn, sometimes I just want to be left alone…

And don’t get me wrong
I love my kids
More than life itself

But is wrong to want to have time to myself
BY MYSELF?

I’ve got 3 heads to comb
Including my own
and some days
Even that don’t get done

I can’t tell you the last time
I got out to have some fun.

Even my truck is a mess
From toys
To Cheeto stains
Finger prints
In my windows

Who else feels my pain?

So much on my brain
I’ve got to clean this house
Laundry needing to be maintained

Wash, dry, fold, repeat
Checking homework,
Cooking in record time
Sitting down as a family to eat

Sometimes
I don’t know how I do it
I guess you can say
I was built for it

From the time I go to bed
Till the time I wake
I got to remind myself
I never fold, I never break

BUT FOR FUCK’S SAKE
I SAID IT ONCE,
I’LL SAY IT AGAIN…..

MAMA NEEDS A BREAK.
