Affection
Drag my heels,
let out puffs as if I can't handle time
but I know where I belong,
in someones bed,
somewhere warm
and I'd like it to be with you.
It's unfortunate,
I can charm a man
with a joint in hand and a half-cut smile
but you can go for miles with me
anywhere.
I could hunt you out
with a gentle tone,
and love you while the day is long
but I don't mind, if that cruel look is in your eye,
I have other places I could be.
And don't play nice with me,
don't tip-toe around this place.
I'm not in it just for the perks -
this is real life, sweetheart, I'm prepared.
We can work it out.
