The Soldier

Confusion surrounds the sentry
He paces, lowering his guard
He steps over the boundaries
Now all that glitters has been marred
He escapes this place, it's empty
Yet there is no room for him there
He walks the line he was meant to
But there's a war been waging there
Hard-bitten, he makes the distance
Lays every feasible path
He imagines his world without blasphemy
Even though he suffers within his wrath
When the fire was left unfettered
There rose up a singular spark
He makes his way in spite of them
Aspiring to leave his mark
He gathers strength in the morrow
Healing up from all of his woes
He now sleeps without circumscription
Leaving behind the recreant foes
Commit to a journey without tethers
Lead a life of vociferous vim
Lay to rest the significant outcry
When you break away from him
Why walk the path with many
When you can leave the path with one
When I whisper back at the envious
The war inside's been won
