Ideology

Meddlesome whispers
pushing static through the mind
Is it me?
Am I the sinner
keeping this lie so intertwined
Is it political?
Analytical?
Do I purchase or do I walk?
Do I dance to their music?
Do I talk the penchant talk?
Making enemies with my judgement
oh my words sometimes betray
Do I have the freedom to speak as I want to
or is it your words that I must say
Marginalized?
I am envied
despite lacking wholesome merit
I don't want this cloak you've left me
but you're forcing me to wear it
Confounded by your desires
that infect my valid thought
It's their edict corrupting the innocent;
their souls should not be wrought
Confusing them about their bodies,
their minds are fresh to mold
Are they escaping the skin they were born within
or just doing what they're told?
Soon the truth will be bleary,
by then it'll be too late
Left to exist as a mere stranger
will forever be their fate
