before sleep

There is undescribable heaviness
That arrives alongside tiredness
Blankets feeling like a thousand pounds Underneath all the weight there's helplessness
As your body sinks into the bed you feel loneliness
That knowing you will always dream alone
The universe seeing it all being your only witness
As the images dance in that sleepy dimness
You fight to stay awake to avoid the sleeping world
Putting up a wasted fight with restlessness
To run from the images...all the failed likeness
Voice's that are close but not exact paired with
Eyes in faces not quite reaching liveliness
Ghosts are real they're created in your faithfulness
You miss them so much and your brains idea of comfort
Is to try so desperately to recreate their softness
There will always be something missing... That soulfulness
Your brains well intentions unknowly dangerous
Why wake up when the ghosts are so close?
